Dear Amanda,
I need your help with a crush I have on this one girl. I feel like I'm too old for her but she is only one grade below me. Is she someone I can ask out without it being weird?

--Well, if you are 18 and she is younger than you then that is a problem. If you are both under the age of 18 then it might be ok. Also, you have to remember that the girl's parents are  going to be worried if their daughter is dating some guy that they don't know you. I believe that all relationships will end in pain. It will end up in a big mess. Take it from someone with experience in this particular subject. But if you disagree then go ahead and ask her out. Good Luck.

Jared says that you could look up the age of consent so that you know which age is appropriate for dating. Think about the time and place when you are asking someone out: you have to know when to do it and where to do it. A school's dance might be a good time to ask her out. Otherwise, don't do anything ridiculous or stupid or embarassing. If she doesn't say yes, then don't flip out on her, just be kind so that you will be able to have a higher chance with other girls in the future.

What if she is 15 going on 16 and you just turned 18?

it is legaly aloud if she is 16. But I would ask her parents before you ask her out. Remember she may already be in another relationship that you may not know about. I would ask one of her really close friends. If she is not in a relationship then I would ask her out. Good Luck!!!

well i'm with amanda on this one, ask her parents first and then if she doesn't have a boyfriend ask her out, but be mature about it so you don't look like an idiot
